Designed by mackaywong and developed by Plainsman Companies, Cascades Casino is an ode to the Kamloops' of the past, while stepping into its future. By taking on the shell of a former big box store, there were undoubtedly going to be challenges. However, by borrowing inspiration from Kamloops natural surroundings, the design and construction team were able to create a world-class entertainment facility that hosts a massive gaming floor, with three restaurants including unique outdoor seating areas.

Of these three spaces, the Atlas Steak+Fish Restaurant rises above the others by embracing the true nature of innovative design while maintaining that classic dining experience. Quickly establishing itself as Kamloops penultimate fine dining experience, the interior is only bested by the lavish outdoor patio and its dual-purpose outdoor coverage.
Sprawling just over 1200 square feet, guests of the Atlas outdoor patio can relish in the dry and sunny summers enjoyed by the City of Kamloops. However, during the high afternoon, comfort, and not just from the food, becomes a priority.

With such a great area of outdoor dining space we needed a shading solution that can not only cover and protect during harsh weather conditions, but also have the ability to be discrete when retracted. ShadeFX worked with our Interior Design and Architectural teams to develop a solution that worked with our overall concept. Their knowledge and engineering offered us the best solution for our restaurant and patio design.'

Kamloops Casino Restaurants
To ensure guests enjoy every second of there dining experience, ShadeFX worked closely with Plainsman Companies and mackaywong to install motorized canopies that fit seamlessly with the patio's floor print. In order to maintain the articulated aesthetic of the space, all ShadeFX hardware was powder coated with matching color tones, exemplifying the landmark features found throughout the outdoor room.
'We had ShadeFX canopies installed in a high end restaurant patio in a high end casino project in Kamloops. They look great, are easy to use, and the client loves them. The patio is now one of the most desirable in town.'

The new Cascades Casino is located in the semi arid foothills of the Coastal Mountain Range in Kamloops, British Columbia. The region is home to an incredibly diverse landscape of sagebrush-covered hills, ravines, wide-open grasslands, rugged mountains, forested valleys and pristine lakes. The city has become synonymous with play, adventure and a year-round haven for adrenaline enthusiasts who seek blue skies, gnarly cliff faces and winter's famous dry powder.
